East Gippsland
5-7 Aug 2022
The tranquil Gippsland Lakes system is the ultimate adventurer’s playground. East Gippsland is one of Victoria’s premier holiday destinations; loved for its swimming beaches, waterfront cafes and fleet of colourful fishing boats, many of which sell the day’s catch from the jetties.
SuperTrail Series brings amazing course designs and iconic locations taking in the highlights of this region. The festival aims to bring together runners, and their friends and families, to celebrate our sport in such a naturally spectacular environment.
Grab the kids, pack the car and head to Lakes Entrance on Friday afternoon. You’ll be rewarded with a beautiful 10km Blizzard out and back Trail run from the Lakes Entrance Rotunda. Just in time to tuck in for some delicious local delicacies at one of the many seafood restaurants and cafes.
55km Hurricane on Saturday is something special. This point to point run from Nowa Nowa follows the East Gippsland Rail Trail before turning left onto the Lakes Discovery Trail. You will discover trails only the locals know about, set beside this tranquil seaside town. For mum, dad or the kids, all the fun isn’t out of town. Sign up for the Kids Tiny Trails 2km race or the Stormy 5km Trail, racing from the Rotunda.
No time for Sunday sleep ins when the Tornado is calling. 26km from the Rotunda through stunning beach side bushland trails. If you or the family missed the Tiny Trails and the Storm 5km, these will be run again on Sunday morning from the Rotunda Festival area.
Race three events over the weekend and earn points for the Triple Crown. Triple Crown: racers who choose to run three events; 10km Blizzard, 55km Hurricane, 26km Tornado, totaling 91km Cyclone, go into the running for the Triple Crown.
With the largest prize purse in Australian trail running events on offer, place getters for the Triple Crown will go home with cash prizes.
Elite Category and Age Group winners will get to shine on the podium.
